I love wordpress and have been using it since 2008. I was shocked to see only 54% of the websites are built on it.
It has been the easiest for me to maintain {especially after another talented person built it ;)}
Why do you think people shy away from WP?
I think people stay away from it simply because of the lack of education – they do not realize how easy it can be – once you konw what you are doing. Fortunately, this only takes a little training. It isn’t like the initial days of building a website!

Love WordPress. When I first started blogging I tried Blogger and that lasted about 5 minutes, and then I followed that with a free WordPress site… and then the inevitable self-hosted. And you can see why it’s popular when you start digging under the hood 🙂
Absolutely! There are so many benefits to being self-hosted! I think the term, “self-hosted” sounds scarier than it is! It almost seems as if you have to run the servers yourself!
